Berberine ursodeoxycholate (HTD1801), is a new molecular entity formed from equimolar amounts of berberine and ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). Both berberine and UDCA are traditional natural products with a long history of medicinal use in humans.
Their effectiveness and safety have been well-established and widely recognized. In the form of HTD1801, a salt with a unique microstructure, berberine and UDCA work together to produce distinct and improved properties with "1+1>2" synergistic effects in terms of drug exposure, pharmacokinetics, efficacy, and safety.
